The apex Edo Organization worldwide noted with dismay, the recent in-fighting in the state legislature and squabbles at the government level which it says leave a lot to be desired.

The statement was jointly signed by ENAW’s National President, Mr. Franklin Omoruna and Chairman, Council of Presidents of the Association, Barr. Dickson Iyawe.

The organization condemned the behavior of those involved in the crisis as an inexcusable exercise that jeopardizes good governance and put properties and lives at stake.

“Those perpetuating this infighting promote a deliberate ploy to destabilize the peace in Edo State resulting in the delay of legislative activities and key governmental initiatives.”

“ENAW hereby calls for peaceful resolution of the on-going crisis in the overall interest of the Edo people. All parties should not forget that selfish imbroglio does not provide solutions or put an end to problems, but rather the opposite,” the organization advised.

Edo National Association Worldwide, without casting blame on any particular group or person, however acknowledged the works and efforts of Governor Adams Oshiomhole in the development of Edo State.

The organization took cognizance of all the developmental initiatives that “are visible in the length and breadth of the state since the inception of his administration,” a phenomenon it said was a true testament of good governance.

The ENAW said it would continue to monitor the affairs of the State, and “express our concerns as we may see fit regarding how our homeland of Edo State is currently managed.”

The organization promised its continued support for the various Edo State infrastructure and services, adding that it’s Medical Mission Team would be in the State in December 2014, in continuation of its annual medical services in collaboration with St. Gabriel’s Medical Center and the Nigeria Nurses Association of North America.

ENAW, according to the statement will commence implementation of its phase two of the international park and recreation facilities, located at Utekon in Benin City during the same time period.

“Our goal is to identify the best way to ensure effective collaboration with Edo State Government and the business community at home on various initiatives for the benefit of the people of Edo State,” the statement added.
