Dare Devil Armed Robbery Suspects Kill Police Officer In Benin

Police gun down one fleeing suspect

It was a gloomy atmosphere at the Edo State Police Command on Wednesday when news broke that an Inspector of Police with the Anti Cultism Unit, Mr.  Mohammed Hameed had been shot to death by dare devil armed robbery suspects at Central Benin Metropolis.

Reports says  some fleeing bandits on the night of Wednesday January 6, 2021 along Lagos street in Benin city,  had engaged policemen who were responding to a distress call and in the duet fell the gallant officer.

In retaliation, the brave police men shot one of the armed robbery suspects to death.

The suspects were said to have snatched a car around the King’s Square in Benin City and headed towards Lagos Street in the Edo state capital.

The police responded swiftly and pursued the hoodlums towards the said Lagos Street in Benin City.

Upon sighting the police, they opened fire into the patrol van and killed Inspector Mohammed Hameed who led the response team.

Other members of the police team then fought back killing one of the armed robbers on the spot.
