Eid-El-Maulud: Obaseki Hails Muslims On Peaceful Celebration, Reinforces Gains Of Peaceful Coexistence

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has hailed Muslim faithful for the peaceful Eid-El-Maulud celebration across the state, reassuring that his administration remains committed to ensuring the welfare and peaceful co-existence of all residents irrespective of tribe, religion and political affiliation.

Obaseki said the peaceful celebration of Eid-El-Maulud in the state shows Edo people are peace-loving, adding that his administration will continue to consolidate on policies which foster religious harmony among members of different religious groups. 

According to him, “Muslims constitute a major force for peace and progress wherever they are and have always upheld the import of the Prophet’s teachings. 

“My administration remains committed to creating an environment where everyone would have a fair chance to do business and contribute to economic growth and development, regardless of religious, ethnic and political convictions.”

“The spirit of the Eid-El-Maulud celebration should guide us to leave in peace and accommodate one another in building strong coalitions that will entrench development and progress in our state,” he added. 

He expressed appreciation to Muslims for supporting his re-election which he said has given him the needed motivation to consolidate on his administration’s strides in the last four years.
