We must also not forget those who are unable to celebrate due to illness and/or hospitalization – they need our prayers and support.
Twenty twenty-four has unequivocally made its mark as one of the most challenging years in the history of mankind, with increased deadly conflicts in the Middle East, Eastern Europe –
Russia/Ukraine war, with the threat of nuclear weapon use from Russia; Africa – the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Sudan, increased terrorist activities in Nigeria, among others, all with attendant loss of thousands of lives and displacement of millions of innocent citizens.
Besides suffering because of war, famine, hunger and natural disaster, there are millions of people around the world who face constant repression by their governments and leaders who have no regards for civil, human rights and the rule of law. These monsters must be resisted, using all available civil tools.
As we enter 2025, we must not only pray and meditate for peace but put pressure on leaders of the warring countries and other world leaders to seek the path of peace to mitigate the sufferings of millions of people in the affected regions of the world.
May God Almighty bestow upon you His abundant blessings in 2025 and beyond.
