Ogwa, Edo State, Nigeria – Professor Ezekiel S. Asemah, Vice Chancellor, Glorious Vision University (GVU), Ogwa, Edo State, has been honored with a “Leadership Excellence Award” in recognition of his Outstanding Leadership, Innovation and Academic Accomplishments.
The award which was presented by the Leadership & Development Initiative organization on December 27, 2024, was awarded to Professor Ezekiel Asemah because the Glorious Vision University has been able to distinguished itself “As the private university for Technological Innovation of the year 2024”
During the year under review (2024) the University placed itself on the lane of one of the fastly developing private universities in Nigeria, as the National Universities Commission (NUC) deemed it very appropriate to approve several undergraduates, masters and doctor of philosophy programs for the institution of higher learning.
Only about a week ago, NUC approved Nursing and other Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs for Ivory Tower. This notable achievement underscores the university’s dedication to academic excellence and its ability to meet internationally-recognized educational standards.
Following a comprehensive resource verification exercise conducted by expert panels to assess the university’s human and material resources, the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Chris J. Maiyaki, confirmed the approval of the following new programs, set to begin in the 2024/2025 academic session:

- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science
- B. A International Studies and Diplomacy
- B.Sc. Information Communication Technology
- B.Sc. Cybersecurity
- B.Sc. Information Systems
- B.Sc Data Science
- PhD Computer Science
- PGD Microbiology
- M.Sc. Microbiology
- PhD Microbiology
- PGD Biochemistry
- M.Sc. Biochemistry
- PhD Biochemistry
This latest achievement reaffirms GVU’s commitment to fostering graduates of exceptional character and academic capability, while making a meaningful contribution to the global knowledge base.
