Nowinta Blasts Presidential Spokesman, Says Defending Tinubu Is Defending A Man Without Clearcut Agenda For Nigerian Masses

Abuja, Nigeria Prominent Nigeria’s social critic and human rights activist, Comrade Igbotako Nowinta, has responded to recent attacks made against ex- president Olusegun Obasanjo by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communication and Orientation, saying the presidential spokesman is defending a man who has no clearcut agenda for the Nigerian masses.

Comrade Nowinta, an international conflict resolution expert, who doubles as the Executive Director, Nigeria Good Governance Research Centre (NGGRC) made his view known via a press release titled: “Tinubu Is The Worst Thing Happening To Nigerian People: Sunday Dare Cannot Feed Us With Nonsense”, which he recently gave to journalists in Abuja.

He said, “Olusegun Obasanjo grossly misbehaved as Nigeria’s president, but Sunday Dare cannot repaint the gory economic situation confronting Nigerians today with propagandistic vocabularies, because Bola Tinubu has no clear cut agenda for the masses”.

It would be recalled that ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo harshly criticized President Bola Tinubu during a conference at Yale University, United States recently, while Presidential Spokesman, Sunday Dare in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said amongst other things that “Nigeria is finally making progress under President Tinubu’s leadership.”

According to the full text of the press release:

“Agreed that ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo did some terrible things while in office, and he is not in the best position to criticize the presidency of Bola Tinubu. Now Sunday Dare should be telling Nigerians about concrete blueprint that Bola Tinubu has for the people not trying to defend a presidency that has become a nightmare, a curse and an unprecedented disaster”.

“Truly, Olusegun Obasanjo grossly misbehaved as Nigeria’s president, but Sunday Dare cannot repaint the gory economic situation confronting Nigerians today with propagandistic vocabularies because Bola Tinubu has no clear cut agenda for the masses”.

“What progress is Nigeria making under the leadership of President Tinubu, when Nigerians are buying petroleum products at cut throat prices; when the prices of goods and services have gone ballistic, where electricity tariffs are choking consumers etc?”

“Tinubu government is the worst in Nigeria’s history, let’s look at it critically: if a bad character like Olusegun Obasanjo could have the courage to attack Bola Tinubu on many range of issues scoring the presidency very low, it shows tragically that what we have on our hands is the deadliest on the scale of democratic governance in Nigeria?

“Sunday Dare cannot feed us with nonsense, we are not blind neither are we robots or toys; he has only shown that the people that populate the presidency in Nigeria today are not in touch with reality; that they have chosen to live in a fake clime; a paradise to say, which is very far from the evil that Bola Tinubu has become to Nigerian people”.

” Indeed, Nigeria Good Governance Research Centre sees President Bola Tinubu as a savage beast shattering our landscape recklessly; using the masses as pawns; a genocidal administration killing our people via senseless and nonsensical economic policies. Mr. President who doubles as Petroleum Minister, has allegedly simply allowed himself to be trapped in the midst of Petro-Dollar business going into trillions”.

“We challenge Mr. President to urgently take a step forward towards ambitious plans to salvage the terrible reality in the country today; to rebalance the economy towards a more sustainable consumption led growth; to unveil fresh package of measures to revive the system”.
