Two Nabbed Suspected Kidnappers Brought To Benin

Two suspected kidnappers apprehended during a fierce rescue operation of a farmer at Igben Community in Ovia South-west local government area of Edo State have been transferred to police headquarters in Benin City, Edo State of Nigeria.

SP Chidi Nwabuzor, Spokesman for the command stated this during an exclusive chat with our correspondent in Benin City today.

“Iguobazuwa division has transferred the case to the anti-kidnapping section here at the command headquarters, Benin.

“The DPO transferred them (suspects) he today, they are now handling the case”, he said.

It would be recalled that a farmer Pastor Solomon Ativiel was reported abducted on his way from his field at Urhobo Camp of Iguelaiho Community in Ovia South-west local government area of Edo State last Monday.

His abduction triggered Igben Community youths action who dared the captors by intercepting their operational speedboat at the community waterway.

Amid the chaos that ensued, Pastor Solomon Ativiel was successfully rescued, but one of his captors was neutralized and two arrested while others escaped abandoning their speedboat.

The collaborative effort between the community and law enforcement highlights a staunch determination to combat criminal elements and safeguard residents of the region from harm.
