Keir Starmer Vows To Prioritise Nation Over Party As Labour Is Set To Lead UK After 14 Years

Starmer declared, “A mandate like this comes with great responsibility.”

Keir Starmer, the Labour leader set to become the first Labour prime minister in 14 years, pledges that his government will prioritise “country first, party second.”

Starmer declared, “A mandate like this comes with great responsibility.”

He stressed that his administration would focus on “national renewal,” aiming to rebuild and strengthen the United Kingdom across various sectors.

“We have to return politics to public service.”

“We did it,” Starmer triumphantly declared to supporters at London’s Tate Modern museum.

Labour clinched one of its largest-ever majorities in the House of Commons, with over half of the 650 seats already counted.

Starmer is scheduled to visit King Charles III later on Friday to seek the monarch’s approval to form a new government.

The Labour Party has secured a parliamentary majority in Britain as vote counting continues.

The party had secured 326 seats out of 650 by 5 a.m. on Friday, ensuring that leader Keir Starmer will assume the role of prime minister and be able to establish a majority government.
