Ogwa, Edo, Nigeria – A multidisciplinary and multilingual scholar, who doubles as the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Glorious Vision University, (GVU) Ogwa, Edo State, Prof. Cyrille Ngamen Kouassi, has said that the citadel of learning operates best practices in academic research.
Prof. Ngamen Kouassi who speaks, read and write French, English and Spanish made this assertion in Ogwa, Edo State, on July 18, 2024, while making his opening speech during the maiden methodology workshop organized by the School of Postgraduate Studies, Glorious Vision University.
He said the methodology workshop was organized to acquaint students with the best practices in research and to place Glorious Vision University on the same pedestal with comities of schools operating the 21st century best practices as far as research is concerned.
According to Prof. Ngamen Kouassi “Our main objective and dream is to make the School of Postgraduate Studies of Glorious Vision University, the bedrock of academic research in the South South region of Nigeria and beyond. Topics were carefully selected and presented by GVU best brains ably led by the guest lecturer Prof. Alex Ajeh from the great University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria”.
The erudite Prof who was the host at the event revealed that “All the papers presented will be reviewed and published in a manual form and this will become a working document for GVU School of Postgraduate Studies for current students and generations to come”
The 2024 Postgraduate Methodology Workshop with the theme “Meeting Research Benchmarks In The 21st Century was attended by an array of distinguished discussants which included Prof. Alex Ajeh Enuneku, Faculty of Life Sciences, UNIBEN (Guest Lecturer); Dr. Kingsley Enerijiofi; Dr. E.B Ajala; Dr. Hassan Ozekhome; Dr. John Ifeka; Dr. S O. Ijaola; Dr. F. E Oghi, while the Chief Host was Prof. E.S Asemah, Acting Vice Chancellor GVU.
GVU’s School of Postgraduate Studies, which was approved by the Senate in 2018, started with PGD and master’s in 6 programs only: Accounting, Mass Comm, Business Administration, History and Diplomatic Studies, Computer Science and Economics
Prof. Cyrille Ngamen Kouassi became the institution’s 3rd substantive Dean in September, 2022, and the School of Postgraduate Studies, which operates dual mode of teaching: online and in-person have 10 programs running from PGD to PhD, fully approved by the National University Commission (NUC).
