Blinken Reiterates U.S. Commitment To Middle East Lasting Peace In Meeting With Israeli President Herzog

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Tel Aviv where he reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security and discussed the latest efforts to achieve a ceasefire that secures the release of hostages.  

Blinken reiterated the United States’ commitment to establishing lasting peace, security, and stability in the region.

According to a statement released by the State Department Spokesperson, Matthew Miller, Blinken and President Herzog also discussed the importance of urgently delivering humanitarian assistance to civilians throughout Gaza, protecting humanitarian workers, and avoiding regional escalation.
