As the world enter the new year 2024, frontline Edo APC Gubernatorial hopeful, General Charles Airhiavbere rtd, mni, has again enjoined party faithful to ensure only a candidate with the capacity and the reach to win, emerges flag-bearer in the Edo2024 Governorship elections.
Airhiavbere who made the call in a New Year message addressed to all APC members in the state, reiterated that winning the year’s Governorship elections is a task that must be done and only the best aspirant like himself can bring it about.
“This is the year of decision for our party. It is the crucial year. Edo is the heartbeat of the nation and the APC in Edo must become the heartbeat of the party at the national. Edo people are eager and ready to restore APC to power in Benin City but are wondering if the party will get it right.
“As a state and a people, we cannot afford a repeat of the mistake we made before. The fact is this year’s Governorship elections will not be business as usual. It will not be a child’s play. I have presented myself as the best; the best, the best candidate!”
Airhiavbere in his New Year message of 2024, urged the party to pray that it’s leaders come to a very decision by doing the right thing to avoid a repeat of the past, which in seven years had seen Edo in agony.
“On behalf of my wife, it is my honour and immense pleasure to wish all our party members of the Edo state a very happy and prosperous New Year. As we begin our journey into 2024 which holds a very important place in the democratic development of our state, I congratulate us and wish us well.
“The Year 2024 is a defining moment for our party and our state. I am inspired by the compelling need to provide leadership that will bring to an end the seven years of agony, bitterness and disharmony in our state, overcome our challenges and, together, implement my PIE program for the Peace, Infra-structural development and Economic Prosperity of our State”.
Airhiavbere said in his resolve to be the next gubernatorial candidate of the party he will soon continue his tour of the additional local government areas in the state, to drive home his message that only the best is good enough for Edo APC.
“As governor I will be committed to listening to the voices of our people and giving all, including our traditional rulers a voice in decision-making. Together, we can make Edo State the dream of our founding fathers, a better place in 2024 and beyond. Happy New Year!”, he concluded.
