New Edo Police Commissioner, Adegboye Assumes Duty

A new Commissioner of police, Funsho Adegboye has assumed duties in Edo State, succeeding CP Mohammed Dankwara as the 46th commissioner of police in Edo State.

Available records indicated that CP Funsho Adegboye was among the 40 deputy commissioners of police, (DCPs), promoted by the Police Service Commission, PSC, in August, 2022.

Prior to his elevation, CP Funsho Adegboye was DCP operations, in Ondo State Police Command. 

However, the outgone Edo State CP, Mohammed Dankwara is on his way to the prestigious National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru Jos for a compulsory course to prepare him for the post of an Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of police. 

It would  be recalled that CP Mohammed Dankwara assumed duty on Thursday, October 27, 2022 as the 45th commissioner of police in Edo State. 

He took over from CP Abutu Yaro who was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, and redeployed to zone 13 in Ukpodunukofia-Awka, Anambra State.
