Mohbad: Court Orders Remand Of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Two Others

A Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State, ordered on Wednesday that Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, Samson Balogun Eletu, alias Sam Larry and two others should be remanded over the death of Afrobeats musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad.

The Court wants Naira Marley and Sam Larry to remain in police custody for 21 days alongside Ogedengbe Fisayo and Ayobami Sadiq as investigations continue to unravel the killers of Mohbad.

The Lagos State Police Command had actually requested a 30-day detention for Naira Marley and the other individuals mentioned.

However, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun decided to detain the owner of Marlian records and the others for a shorter period, specifically 21 days.

Olatubosun ordered their remand in the police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID) while she adjourned the case until October 25.

She also ordered that the suspects be granted access to medicals and lawyers of their choice after being charged with conspiracy and suspected murder.

Naira Marley and Lagos socialite Sam Larry have become subjects of investigation regarding the demise of Mohbad, who tragically passed away on September 12.

On September 29, Sam Larry was taken into custody, and the Lagos police, on Tuesday, disclosed that Naira Marley had also been detained for questioning.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday declared Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, wanted over the death of Mohbad.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin, declared Primeboy wanted following his failure to honour the invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Mohbad.

Hundeyin added that the last known address of Primeboy, who is approximately 1.64 m tall, male, dark-complexioned with tribal marks, and Yoruba by tribe, is 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu, in Lagos State.

He also said that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has offered a handsome reward of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira Only) to anyone with useful information leading to Primeboy’s arrest.

Following the death of Mohbad, Nigerians pointed accusing fingers at Naira Marley, Sam Larry and many other individuals in the Marlian record label due to the way they bullied the late musician.
