New Police Chief Takes Charge In Edo

Benin City, Nigeria – Recently deployed commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Adamu Dankwara has assumed duty in Benin City, Edo State of Nigeria.

He took charge of the Police Command on Thursday, October 27, 2022 as the 45th commissioner of police in the State, popularly known as the heartbeat of the nation.

CP Mohammed Adamu Dankwara took over from Mr. Abutu Yaro who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), and redeployed to zone 13 in Ukpodunukofia-Awka, Anambra State.

Records at our reporter’s disposal shows that CP Mohammed Adamu Dankwara was among the 23 Deputy Commissioners of Police, DCPs, elevated to CPs by the police service commission, last May.

It would be recalled that Abutu Yaro became Edo CP on Monday, April 11, 2022 after taking over from CP Philip Ogbadu who retired from the Nigeria Police Force in March, 2022.

CP Mohammed Dankwara is yet to hold his maiden press briefing in Edo State as at press time today Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
