Gory Scene, As Police Confirm Ten Male  Corpses  Along Ibillo – Lampese Rd

Residents of Ibillo – Lampese axis of the ever busy Ibillo – Lampese  –  Okene – Abuja Road, early Tuesday woke up to the scene of  lifeless bodies of unknown men dumped in the area.

The gory sight sent cold shivers down the spines of the residents of Ibillo – Lampese axis of the ever busy Ibillo – Lampese  –  Okene – Abuja Road early as many of them scampered back to their homes.

A spokesperson of Akoko Edo Local Government Area Vigilante Group and Okpameri nation, Mr. Victor Arogunyo, told newsmen that the ugly incident was noticed first by farmers, whereupon the vigilante group, the police and others got involved in combing the area that led to the discovering of ten bodies with no trace of fresh injury.

He confirmed  the incident and deposition of the ten dead corpses at the General Hospital Ibillo for Autopsy.

The Public Relations Officer of Edo State Police Command,  Superintendent Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the incident.

“Yes, the incident is confirmed. According to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ibillo division, the vigilante commander of that area reported to him that dead bodies of ten males were hidden somewhere.

“Immediately, he went with his men and discovered the dead bodies. In a close examination, a cellophane was discovered in the mouth of one of the corpses.

“There is no other mark of violence in any of the bodies but that cellophane suggests that it could have been through suffocation that accelerated their deaths.

“For now, it is a case of suspected murder,” he said. 

Nwabuzor added  that the corpses have been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.

He said investigation is currently ongoing to determine the cause of death and those responsible.
