Alleged Illegal Demolition Of Properties: Court Grants Irabor, Six Others Bail

Edo State High Court on Thursday granted bail to Secretary, Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor and six other persons,  remanded in connection with the demolition of houses in Ulegun Community,Ikpoba Oka Local Government Area, Edo State.

The lead Counsel to the accused  persons, Barrister Olayiwola Afolabi presented their bail applications before the court on Thursday.

Barrister Olayiwola Afolabi said since their  offences are  bailable  as they were not accused of kidnapping or other  criminal offences, they were entitled to bail.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Mary Itsueli after listening to the Counsel granted the bail applications of the persons in the sum of one million Naira (N1,000,000 ) each with a surety each in like sum.

The presiding judge said the sureties must be gainfully employed, a house owner and must appear in court on every adjourned date.

Irabor and six other persons namely, Oko-Oboh Ebosele; Aghavbere Osawemwenguan; Abel Oko-Oboh; Tuesday Atagamene; Okechukwu Okeke; Ode Uloko, were earlier remanded in prison custody over the alleged involvement in demolition of buildings at Ulegun community in Edo.
