Benin City, Nigeria – The monumental image and extraordinary lifestyle of the late music maestro, Sir (Professor) Victor Efosa Uwaifo, came alive recently, when the Revelation Tourists Extra Group World Wide, hosted friends and well-wishers, to a colorful Get-together ceremony in Benin City.
The ceremony which was co-hosted by the President of the African Bar Association (ABA), Barr. Hannibal Uwaifo, who equally doubles as the President of the Revelation Tourists Extra Group World Wide, climaxed the inauguration of the Board of Directors for the actualization of Victor Uwaifo Day, as a global event.
At the event, Barr. Hannibal Uwaifo reflected on the sterling qualities of the music superstar.
His words: “Sir Victor Uwaifo, though a global senior distinguished relative of mine, deserves to be immortalized because of his iconic contributions to the Nigerian nation, using his unparalleled musical talents to the tilt.
“He was indeed a source of pride and joy to us all. Therefore, we have decided that his great works must never be allowed to go into extinction.
“We are ready to keep his memory alive forever by taking his musical gospel all over the world; even as a new musical sensation: Uwaifo Junior ( The Rock), which we have discovered, is set to propagate his works.”
A co-host of the well-attended event, and a celebrated exponent of the musical virtues of the late, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Mr. Chris Osaretin Eburu, in his opening remarks said: “Our father, Sir Professor Victor Efosa Uwaifo, was an extraordinary personality, an indefatigable professional, a model of humanity and a champion of Benin cultural industry.
“We have decided to do this special event, to plan vigorously with a view to actualize a befitting anniversary in honour of his memory. He was the first ever product of PHD in the Nigerian musical firmament.
“We are planning to actualize Sir Victor Uwaifo Day and Anniversary. We are kick starting this process today with the inauguration of the board of directors that will assiduously drive and bring this project into reality”
The Get-together ceremony was electrified by a profuse combinations of musical renditions by renowned musicians, who sang famous tunes/tracks from the works of the legendary Sir Victor Efosa Uwaifo.
More tantalizing particularly, was the excellent display by the new musical sensation: Uwaifo Junior (The Rock), who thrilled guests endlessly by his magical display of the late Sir Victor Uwaifo’s prominent songs, like Joromi; if you see mammy water, etc.
The board of directors inaugurated at the event included, Prof. Franklyn Egwali; Dr. Mattie Obazee; Mr. Emman Ogbeide; Chief Omo- Osagie Utetenegiabi; Comrade Igbotako Nowinta; Rev. Raphael Aimufua; Pastor Kerry Obaseki; Mr. Terry Isaacs Idahor; Barr. Oke Stephens; Dr. Fabomo; Rotarian Lucky Eboh- Onokwe.
Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture & Diasporian Affairs, Hon. Prince Bamidele Olaitan, was ably represented by Ms. Loveth Osarugue Dioru, while Mrs Uwaifo, the wife of the late musical icon and other honorable guests added fantastic glamour to the ceremony.
The Revelation Tourists Extra Group World Wide, is set up primarily to promote the life and works of the late superstar, Sir Victor Uwaifo, who was born on March 1st, 1941 and took his last breathe on August 28, 2021.
