Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has called for support of the Nigerian Air Force to tackle insecurity in the state.
The governor made the appeal in a farewell message to the outgoing Commander, 107 Air Maritime Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Commodore Emmanuel Effiom, at the Government House in Benin City.
Commending the Air Force Commander, Obaseki said: “The level of work and commitment which you have shown generally are commendable. I recall your role during the #EndSARS demonstrations and how you provided leadership and support during that period.
“I can’t imagine how we would have gone through that period without the involvement and commitment which you showed and displayed; this is one of the several incidents that I can point to since your time in this command.
“You understand the security challenges of this state; you know what we have been up to and what we need to do. We are glad that you are going to the headquarters and understand our needs here; you will now help us to use some of the resources available to help us deal with the emerging security challenges here.”
Responding, Commodore Effiom expressed appreciation to the state governor for his support during his time in the zone.
