Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, is set to meet with Edo sons and daughters in the Diaspora to rally the indigenes to invest in the state, as part of the government’s efforts to further strengthen the economy of the state.
Others expected at the meeting are the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa; Managing Director of the Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), Ukinebo Dare; Permanent Secretary, Edo State Ministry of Health, Dr. Osamwonyi Irowa, and the Managing Director, Edo State Geographic Information Service Agency (EdoGIS), Arch. Frank Evbuomwan, among others.
The engagement is scheduled to take place via Zoom on Sunday, July 25, 2021. It is organised by the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO) in commemoration of the National Diaspora Day.
The National Diaspora Day is marked on July 25 of every year in recognition of the contributions of Nigerians living outside the country towards the development of their homeland.
According to the Managing Director of ESIPO, Mr. Kelvin Uwaibi, the programme with the theme, “National Diaspora Day: Investment meeting with the Diaspora,” is scheduled to be held between 4 and 6 pm.
He noted that the event was a platform to attract more investments into the state by rallying Edo sons and daughters in the Diaspora to come and benefit from the business-friendly environment of the Governor Obaseki-led administration.
Uwaibi stressed that Edo State has become the best business destination for both local and foreign investors under the present administration.
