Edo State Police Command said it has deployed 3, 410 personnel to provide a water-tight security during and after ed-eld-fitr celebration in the state.
The police operatives are to work in synergy with other sister agencies in security of lives and property during and after Muslims festivity, today and tomorrow.
Mosques, other worship centers, recreation venues and public places considered as soft targets will experience huge presence of security personnel to ward off any untoward occurrence during the period.
Also deployed are personnel of the police traffic wing to ensure free flow of vehicular movements within and around Benin City.
The commissioner of police in Edo State CP Philip Ogbadu stated this in a statement released to journalists by the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello in Benin City, Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
CP Ogbadu while wishing the Muslim community a blissful celebration, enjoined them to be security conscious, celebrate within the armpit of the law and report swiftly to law enforcement agents any suspicious character or event in their neighbourhood.
