Death Of Attahiru, Others: CMA Condoles With Govt, Bereaved Families, People Of Nigeria

Reactions have continued to trail the tragic death of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and some other military officers in a plane crash last Friday, with the latest coming from the U.K.-based Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA).

In a message of condolence addressed to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari and signed by its President, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, CMA condoled with Buhari, Attahiru’s wife and entire family, as well as spouses and families of the other departed officers, “and the Government and people of Nigeria, over the irreparable loss.”

“CMA shares your great pains and that of his wife and immediate family, as well as those of the other departed officers, over the unfortunate loss,” Dr. Enabulele told the President.

Lt.Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, he recalled was known for his charismatic and purposeful leadership and acknowledged as a great commander with an impeccable commitment to Buhari’s developmental agenda for Nigeria.

“We are therefore in no doubt that the unfortunate demise of Lt.Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and the other departed officers at this critical time in Nigeria’s history will leave a great vacuum that may be difficult to fill.”

CMA’s CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE DEMISE OF LT.GEN IBRAHIM
ATTAHIRU AND OTHER GALLANT OFFICERS.

The Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA) received with heavy heart and sadness, the news of the demise of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, and other gallant officers, on Friday, May 21, 2021 following a fatal plane crash.

CMA shares your great pains and that of his wife and immediate family, as well as those of the other departed officers, over the unfortunate loss.

On behalf of the CMA and physicians from the 54 countries of the Commonwealth, I sincerely convey our deepest and heartfelt condolences to you,

Lt. Gen Attahiru’s wife and entire family, as well as spouses and families of the other departed officers, and the Government and people of Nigeria, over the irreparable loss.

Lt.Gen Ibrahim Attahiru was known for his charismatic and purposeful leadership. He was acknowledged as a great commander with an impeccable commitment to your developmental agenda for Nigeria.
