Edo Tech Park: Software Engr Training Firm Begins Recruitment For 2nd Batch Of Engineers

Software engineer training firm, Decagon has commenced recruitment for the second batch of software engineers for Edo Tech Park, an initiative of the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki-led administration.

Managing Director, Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), Mrs. Dare Ukinebo, who disclosed this to journalists, said the first cohorts has already commenced 6-month training with Decagon and would soon be certified to undertake jobs for local and international companies.

According to her, “We are calling for applications for the second cohort of trainees for the Edo Tech Park project. We concluded recruitment for the first batch months ago and they have already commenced training.

“As you know, we have a target to train 15,000 software engineers in Edo Tech Park, so we have just commenced recruitment for the second cohort. We want as many people as possible to apply. Those who applied for the first cohort but couldn’t make it to the final stage are encouraged to apply again.”

She noted that the recruitment is transparent and merit-driven, stating that a lot of effort is being made to ensure that as many qualified persons are engaged so they can benefit from the training and earn a decent wage working as software engineers.

She added that the Edo State Government is committed to the programme as it was a cardinal part of its drive to provide decent jobs for youths in the state and harness their innate abilities to build a strong formidable workforce that would take advantage of digital skills to make Edo a major hub for software engineering in Africa.
