Petroleum Tanker Drivers and other articulated heavy vehicles on Thursday Morning  blocked the  ever busy Lagos-Benin highway over alleged   killing of two drivers by the terrorist Fulani herdsmen .

The alleged murder was said to have been carried out on Wednesday.

The bandits  were said to have made away with an undisclosed amount of money from their victims.

The drivers who angrily blocked the ever-busy Lagos-Benin Expressway after Ofosu, the boundary between Edo and Ondo States at the military checkpoint refused all pleas to vacate the road.

Altimepost.com gathered that Military Personnel at the checkpoint were polite  and had to practically relocate from  their duty post not to aggravate the situation.

They were accused of abandoning the Checkpoint and  indulging in the habit of extorting N500 note from tanker driver each and a liter of diesel or PMS from them collected by their proxy who interface regularly with the drivers along the road.

As at the time of filing this report, the NUPENG President Comrade Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, the General Rasaq, 4th Mechanised Brigade, and Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Philip Ogbadu could not be reached for comments.

The angry Drivers say the Governor of Edo State Mr Godwin Obaseki who is the chief security officer of the State should come to the protest ground to explain how they got there before theycould open up the road for use.
