Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Ukuakpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II has asked the various security heads in Edo state to tackle the menace of killer herdsmen across various communities in the state.
The Oba explained that the violent activities of herders across Edo state have become alarming, warning that if not tackled, could result to deep crises.
Oba Ewuare said this when security heads in Edo state paid him a working visit at his palace in Benin City during the week.
The royal father hinted that collaborative efforts between traditional institutions and various security agencies including the local vigilance groups would greatly improve security of lives and property.
The royal father expressed deep worry over escalating rate of kidnapping, rape and killings, insisting that nefarious activities of herders must be checked for the good of the state.
Oba Ewuare Ogidigan assured the security heads of palace’s support in the fight against banditry and other crimes.
Earlier, the security heads, Brig Gen Musa Sadiq commander 4 Brigade Benin, Commissioner of police Mr Philip Ogbadu and Director of State Security Service Mrs. Ebun Likiyo told the Oba that they were at his palace to seek royal blessings and prayers to succeed in office.
The new security heads solicited the Monarch’s collaborative support to tackle insecurity and other social crimes in the state.
