Clergyman, Pastor Festus Saiki has warned that the Muhammadu Buhari Presidency might be the last in Nigeria’s democratic experiment if he fails to yield to the call for the restructuring of the country to reflect a true federalism.
“Mr. President must ensure we discuss our future in a peaceful atmosphere, if he continues to ignore the overwhelming wishes and aspirations of well-meaning Nigerians, l am afraid his presidency might be the last; Nigeria might collapse violently anytime from now,” he warned.
Pastor Festus Saiki of the Redeemed Christian Church of God gave the warning in an interview with Alltimepost.com on Sunday during the Special Quarterly Program “Divine Settlement” with the theme: ‘Let The Fire Fall’, Organized By The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Shekinah Glory Parish Zonal Headquarters, Oluku in Benin City, Edo State.
He therefore called on President Buhari to urgently yield to the strident call to restructure the country now, given the worsening insecurity, bad governance, fake federalism, underdevelopment, nepotism, tribalism and religious bigotry that have bedeviled the country.
Pastor Saiki who was a Guest Speaker at the event, said that it is very unfortunate that the Nigerian nation is declining without remedy due to myriads of intractable crises.
The reality of the situation, he noted, is that President Muhammadu Buhari neither listens nor seem to be concerned about the miserable plight of millions of defenseless and poverty-stricken Nigerians.
“If Nigeria must remain as a single geographical entity, President Muhammadu Buhari must listen to us all, especially those calling for restructuring, by activating all the necessary machineries, put them in motion, in robust synergy with the National Assembly, to address the salient questions of moving the country forward in that direction.
“What we have as a Constitution is simply obsolete in letters and spirits. We are sitting on a social, political, economic and security gun powder.
“Mr. President must ensure we discuss our future in a peaceful atmosphere, if he continues to ignore the overwhelming wishes and aspirations of well-meaning Nigerians, l am afraid his presidency might be the last; Nigeria might collapse violently anytime from now”
Pastor Festus Saiki, who added that Nigerians from all works of life must make their intellectual and technological prowess available to take Nigeria to the pinnacle of development, as it is being done in civilized climes, is the Pastor-in-Charge of Pacesetter Parish, Iree, RCCG Province 4, Ikirun, Osun State of Nigeria.
The Chief Host of the Divine Settlement Program, Pastor Frank Amegor, of the RCCG Shekinah Glory Parish, Benin City, Edo Province 5, was elated at the huge turnout of parishioners from the Zone and beyond who graced the highly successful three-day event.
In his words: “I am most grateful to God Almighty for the massive success of this programme, which is first of its kind in this year 2021. There is no doubt that many of our people encountered divine settlement from the anointing that filled the air”
