Edo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming the education sector, ensuring that students in the state get quality education to compete favourably with their peers across the globe.
Edo State Head of service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq. gave assurance when he played host to the leadership and members of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) in Benin City.
Okungbowa said the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration remains committed to transforming all critical sectors of the state with a priority on education.
He noted that the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) honoured Obaseki with the ‘Best Performing Governor Award’ in 2019 for his sustained investment in the sector, reassuring that the governor will continue to do more to ensure that every child in Edo gets affordable and quality education.
On his part, Chairman of the Union, Comrade Odeh. E disclosed that they were in the office of the Head of Service to congratulate him on his appointment and update him on the activities and position of the union.
He thanked Mr. Governor for the renovation of schools, regular and prompt payment of the recently approved minimum wage, among others.
