It was hell on earth for the family of Kidnap victim, an American-based Nigerian, Prince  Dennis  Eloniyo Abuda, when his decomposing body  was found  in a forest at Benin- Lagos  Express Way on Wednesday.

Abuda who hailed from Fugar in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo, Nigeria was kidnapped last Saturday alongside three other  persons (two male and a female)in  a chartered Sienna bus  on their way to Lagos at the Auchi-Benin By-Pass.

His  abductors  were said to have shot him on  finding out that he could not keep to pace, and left his body, while they moved on with the three other victims.

Investigations revealed that his abductors  had  negotiated with his brother, who paid an undisclosed amount as ransom without knowing, he had been killed.

The three others were later released, without Eloniyo.

An unnamed family source, said “He was killed on Saturday, the day he was abducted because he could not walk fast enough into the bush. After killing him, they proceeded with the ransom negotiation and got the money.”

The other three were released on Tuesday  without him,  fueling suspicion about his safety and, a search party was organized by the police, vigilantes and hunters, before his decomposing body was found on Wednesday morning.

Police Public Relation Officer of the Edo State Police Command, Superintendent of Police SP  Chidi Nwabuzor who confirmed the tragic incidence  said the Police were on it and would not want to release so much information that could hamper the Investigation, as they are still in the forest.

“If it is the one that happened by the  by-pass, the command is fully aware and the Commissioner of Police personally led operatives to the scene this morning and they are still in the forest on active combing of the bush,” Nwabuzor said.
