New Police Commissioner Assumes Duty In Edo

A new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ogbadu Aliyu Philip assumed duty in Edo State on Wednesday.


CP Ogbadu took over from Johnson Babatunde Kokumo who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of police, recently.


The CP who hails from Kogi State on assumption of office in Edo went into a close door meeting with principal officers of the command.
The Edo new commissioner of police was among the 623 senior officers whose promotions were reportedly approved by the police service commission, last December.


Also, CP Ogbadu Aliyu Philip was among the eight commissioners of police deployed along with DIG and AIG by the Inspector General of police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu to coordinate September 19 gubernatorial election in Edo State.
He supervised security architecture in Edo Central Senatorial District during the guber election.

It would be recalled that CP Johnson Kokumo took over from CP Lawan Jimeta Tanko on June 2, 2020.
