AIG Boosts Police Officers’ Morale, Warns Against Indiscipline

BY MIKE OSAROGIAGBO

Assistant Inspector General of police, zone 5 AIG Sholla David has urged officers and men of Edo State Police Command to be upright and diligent in the discharge of their constitutional duties.

The AIG, while highlighting some of the rewards of discipline officers, warned that under his watch any officer found wanting would be disciplined accordingly.

AIG Sholla David stated this while delivering motivational lecture to men and officers of Edo State Police Command in Benin City, today, January 27, 2021.

He remarked that his visit to the state police command headquarters was a follow up to the post #EndSARS visits of the Edo State Governor Mr.Godwin Obaseki and the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, last year.

Sholla noted that considering what happened to the command during the #EndSARS violent protest he needed to visit and add his words of encouragement to those of the state governor and Inspector General of Police.

He explained that he had also paid a similar visit to Delta State Police Command which is also under his zone.

The AIG thanked the media for their efforts so far even as he appealed to them to be factual in their reports and see the police as partners in progress.

Zone 5 is comprised of Edo and Delta States police commands, with its headquarters at Adesuwa road, Benin City.

Earlier in a welcome remarks, the commissioner of police, Edo State CP Philip Aliyu Ogbadu charged men and officers of the state police command to always respect their seniors in the job as it attracts unexpected rewards.
No fewer than 196 officers including principal officers of the command were in attendance.
