Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo North, Emperor Jarret Tenebe has accused Edo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu of unnecessarily slandering former two-time Governor of the State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
He said Shaibu should leave Oshiomhole out of “inability to present his Educational Certificates and that of the governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki to the Judiciary.”
Tenebe, made the assertion Sunday in Okpella, Etsako East local government Area of the state while reacting to a statement credited to the deputy governor to the effect that former National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was planning to overturn the Victory of Governor Obaseki through the Judiciary just like he did in Imo state.
The Edo APC Vice Chairman said: “There was no time Oshiomhole made such a statement at Iyamho, Country home” and described the deputy governor as “a frustrated and confused politician who talks from both sides of his mouth, adding that, Mr. Shaibu was only struggling for survival.”
The APC deputy Chairman, said Comrade Oshiomhole has severally expressed the belief in total independence of the Judiciary having gotten his stolen mandate through the instrumentality of the Courts.
He accused the governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy of blackmailing the Judiciary over what he alleged of their inability to present their certificates, but rather resulted to filing of frivolous appeals from one Court to another, adding that, even the Court of Arbitration in Switzerland would not save them.
Emperor Tenebe, added: “The new tactics of the governor and his deputy was not only diversionary, but also a calculated attempt by the deputy governor to drag the hard earned reputation of the honorable Justices to the mud.”
He alleged that “Mr. Shaibu was not from Uzairue and that he was ready to defend his claim anytime, any day.”
He noted: “Naturally, I was not supposed to comment on a matter in a court of competent jurisdiction, but to save the public from being fed with lies by a government that lacks legitimacy.”
The APC deputy Chairman, called on Mr. Obaseki and his deputy governor “to stop writing petitions against the Judiciary and coming to the newspapers to proclaim their confidence in the same Courts, and urged them “to stand in one place rather than flouting.”
