…EdoJobs Call For Participants
Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs) is set to begin training for the second cohort of its Amazon Web Services (AWS) re/start, a cloud computing training, urging interested youths in the state to apply to participate and build careers in cloud computing.
Managing Director, EdoJobs, Mrs. Ukinebo Dare, in a chat with journalists, said the programme is run in conjunction with AWS and is aimed at building a new corps of internet-savvy, tech-inclined young adults, who are being prepared to take up entry-level jobs in cloud computing.
According to her, “As a government focused on leveraging the power of technology and the internet to empower our youths, we are going further with the partnership with AWS for training cloud computing experts in the state. It is a free 12-week in-class training that would help youths launch careers in the digital space. The participants need not be graduates, but should have completed secondary school education.
“We had the first cohort, who are preparing to take up jobs from AWS and its partners. We are recruiting for the second cohort as the programme is designed to be sustainable.”
She noted that participants in the training are being trained to work as Cloud Support Practitioners, providing them with needed skills to play a critical role in the growing field of cloud computing.
She added that during the training, participants will learn AWS Cloud fundamentals to enable them succeed in entry-level cloud roles, noting, “Through real-world, scenario-based exercises, labs and coursework, they will build Linux, Python, networking, security, and relational database skills.”
“The AWS re/Start also provides learners with professional skills including effective communication, collaboration, resume writing, and interview coaching to prepare them for employer meetings and interviews,” she added.
