Obasogie of Benin Kingdom, Chief Eduwu Ekhator is dead, according to report reaching us.
His sudden exit has thrown the entire Benin Kingdom, especially Ogbesan Quarters , Ikpoba Hill ,Benin City , where his Mini Palace is located into mourning .
Family source said he died in his sleep on Sunday November 1, 2020 .
His last official outing was when the Minister of State for Budget, Mr. Clement Agba visited the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’ Edo Ukuakpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II at his Palace to brief him on efforts to interact with the People on crucial State matters, obviously on the outcome of the #EndSARS Protests.
Adorned in impeccable Benin white native attires as his usual practice, it was a rare privilege to exchange banters with the “Peace Maker” as commonly referred to by close Aides and Admirers.
A renowned Dispute resolution officer, his records as the Chairman, Edo State Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission and The State Petroleum Monitoring Committee have remained unequalled .
Chief Eduwu Ekhator Obasogie was also an international businessman, a quintessential cultural diplomat of no mean repute.
As at the time of this report, the Palace of the Obasogie of Benin had not issued any official letter on his sudden demise.
