Edo Govt, FG Begin Free Business Registration For MSMEs

Edo State Government in collaboration with the federal government has commenced the registration of free business names for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, in a statement, explained that the free business name registration is part of the government’s post-coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic survival intervention programmes.

According to him, the formalisation support scheme will enable micro and small entrepreneurs, artisans, craftsmen and women who are yet to formalise their businesses to do so at no cost.

He noted: “The Edo State Government is working with the Federal Government to implement the free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) business name registration for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Edo State.

“Interested applicants should contact their Local Government Secretariats for collection of forms.

“All interested applicants are expected to fill and return completed forms along with two (2) passport photographs and a photocopy of either the National Identity Card, Driver’s Licence, International Passport or Voter Card.”

Osagie noted that applicants can reach the government’s aggregator, Nelson Enakeno on 08035353587 or send email to survfund2020@gmail.com for further enquiries.
