The seven-man Special Visitation Panel set up by the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, to look into the affairs of Ambrose Alli University on Wednesday met with stakeholders of the state-owned university, in Ekpoma.
The Chairman of the Panel, Prof. I. K Omoruyi, while addressing journalists after the meeting, said the visit to the institution was for the members of the panel to familiarise themselves with the school community and other stakeholders and solicit for cooperation of the people.
Prof. Omoruyi said Governor Godwin Obaseki inaugurated the panel with terms of reference geared towards making the university better and reclaim its pride amongst other institutions of learning.
According to him, “the Visitation Panel is in the university campus to meet with the management team of the institution, so as to work together towards uplifting the university.”
Members of the Special Visitation Panel were joined by the management staff of AAU led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ignatius Onimawo, on a visit to the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness (HRH) Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II.
They also visited the Executive Chairman, Esan West Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Ruth Okunwe, to seek for support and cooperation.
The Visitation Panel also toured round the university campus to ascertain the level of infrastructural development in the institution.
