It’s a huge privilege, an honour and a great responsibility to take on this job as spokesman of the government party and I will do it with everything I have to the best of my ability for my party and my state.
I want us to give this state a modern Compassionate Leadership that is right for our times, right for our people and definitely right for our state.
I’d like to thank the leadership of my party at the state and national levels as well as all the governorship aspirants for the very civilized, decent and reasonable way our primaries was conducted and concluded. You have given this party a sense of discipline, a sense of professionalism and a sense of purpose.
It has been good for our party. And even better for our State! It has shown talent, it has shown ideas, above all it has shown optimism about the future of our party and the future of our state.
I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki who is a vital part and leader of the team Resetting Edo for a brighter and more compassionate future.
As we Reset Edo, We will Reset the way we look.
Reset the way we feel.
Reset the way we think.
And we need to Reset, and we will Reset, the way we behave.
In today’s PDP government, It won’t be enough just to talk about tackling problems but we have to have all of the right ideas for turning those problems around.
The name calling, backbiting, point scoring, finger pointing is beneath our government as we won’t play politics with the long-term future of Edo State, we will work to get it right.
Our state faces huge challenges. They are not challenges you can put in individual boxes, they’re complex, they’re interconnected. To deal with them takes hard work, complex research, deep thinking and I want us to get it right. We have taken the first step in the right direction by nominating Governor Obaseki as our governorship candidate. Even though I trust his instincts and I believe in his ability and capacity, we can’t do it on our own, we need the support of everyone.
People in this state are crying out for a government party that is decent, reasonable, sensible, innovative, compassionate and in it for the long term of this state. And that is the government and party we are going to build, and we want everyone to join in.
From this moment, united and determined, we will go forward together, dedicated to the ultimate and undeniable greatness of Edo state.
Nothing shall be lacking from the struggle that can be brought to it by enthusiasm, by devotion, and plain hard work. In this world no person, no party can guarantee anything, but what we can do and what we shall do is to deserve victory, and victory will be ours. Our party is home for the brave to flourish not to stagnate and certainly not to cringe.
Now, my fellow Edolites, the tide has been running against development and service. Our people have followed false prophets. We must, and we shall, return to proven ways. PDP and Governor Obaseki offers that path. We must, and we shall, set the tide running again in the cause of service and development. And this party and it’s government with its every action, every word, every breath, and every heartbeat, has but a single resolve, and that is service delivery!
If you want all of us to be a voice for hope, for optimism and for change, come and join us.
Everyone is invited. For the growth and development of Edo, there will be no limits. No barriers.
We are Resetting Edo today, for a better and brighter tomorrow.
