The leadership of the National Assembly is to urgently meet with the Executive over rising level of insecurity across the country.
This was sequel to the resolution of the Senate on Thursday mandating the leadership of both chambers of the National Assembly to urgently hold a meeting with the President Muhammadu Buhari, over the deteriorating security situation in the country.
The decision was taken following a point of order raised by Senator Abubakar Kyari (Borno North) over the Tuesday massacre of 90 people in his constituency.
The Red Chamber also urged the Federal Government to implement the Senate committee’s recommendations on the restructuring of the security architecture of the country to enhance efficiency President of the President, Ahmad Lawan, promised to mobilise his colleagues in the House of Representatives to meet Buhari and the security chiefs.
According to him, any of the security chiefs who failed to perform up to expectations even with adequate provisions, should be sacked.
