Benin City: Amb. Osaro Louis has emerged as the flagbearer of the All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming Edo governorship election bid for September 19, 2020.
Speaking after the election, Amb. Louis thanked the committee for a job well done. He also thanked the National Party Chairman, Barr. Mic Adams for his tenacity, fairness and transparency.
“This is the most transparent primary election ever heard in Nigeria. I will always sue for peace and also operate an open door policy. I will not dispise the wisdom of the aspirants but will work with them to ensure victory of the party.
“I want to use this medium to call on all members to work frantically for the success of the party. We will not give up the fight till the end of the race”, he said.
The runningmate – Engr (Mrs.) Onosetale Mudiaga assured the primary election committee Chairman, Bishop Dr. Joshua Uba, and members of the party of fruitful representation and that the O2 project was divine and gender sensitive, saying it was a victory for the women.
“This was the voice of the people and the dividends of democracy has come to stay with the people. In O2 team, equity is a core value.
“Indeed, it is worthy to note that these are the youngest candidates in the history of Edo State and it is time to give the Youths the mandate to run and represent the yearnings of Edo people”, said Mrs. Mudiaga.
During the nomination process, the election committee ensured that the gazette on political gathering was adhered to, and delegates were on facemask. There were buckets of water positioned at the entrance of the hall. The “no facemask, no entry” policy was strictly enforced and maintenance of social distance as well as controlled number at a particular time .
