Nigeria Literary Clinic Features Author, Animator

The Nigeria Literary Clinic, a programme of the Civil Empowerment & Rule of Law Support Initiative, CERLSI, has perfected arrangements to feature an up and coming writer, Osakpolor Emwinromwankhide, author of From the Grass, a first book detailing the archetypical travails of a young protagonist.

The Nigeria Literary Clinic, NLC, is a CERLSI programme which promotes the arts and literary activities in Nigeria by providing a platform for writers, authors, poets and dramatists to discuss their work.

Now in its fourth edition, the NLC has hosted established literary critics and authors like Tony Abolo, John Bardi, Eubadus Enahoro and many more.

Bob MajiriOghene Etemiku, CERLSI deputy executive director said that this edition is going to be unique. ‘Because we realize that writers and literary practitioners now do their work in a digital age, we have included a digital expert who is a specialist in animation.

We hope that his participation will hold the door open for participants to explore the business dimensions involved with digitalizing their work and making it attractive for big studios like Sony, Warner Bros and Netflix,’ Mr. Etemiku said.

Mr. Etemiku also said that with the planned return of art works stolen from Benin City Edo State by the British in 1789, activities like the CERLSI-NLC programme for artists and practitioners alike reinforce Edo State position in the Cultural Revolution of Nigeria.

‘The arts have a way of generating discussions around our lives as a people, and help guide policy makers to produce policies that may help us work towards the attainment of the sustainable development goals’, Mr. Etemiku said.
