The annual reunion of the Oloke Family of the Great Benin Kingdom, USA branch, begins today at the Springhill Suites Marriot, located on 5851 Rogerdale Road in Houston, Texas, United States of America.
The event, which would be attended by members of the family from various parts of the US and beyond will end on Sunday August 11, 2019.
The president of Oloke Family Organization in the US, Mr. Robby Igodan said the reunion holds every year from state to state to celebrate their family, meet more family members, socialize and deliberate on issues affecting them, with a view to strengthening family bond and progress.
Mr. Igodan told Alltimepost.com, that family members started arriving on Thursday for the reunion and that he looks forward to a great and very successful gathering.
According to the program of event, arriving members will meet and socialize with other family members at the hotel, and pick up food in the evening between 5 and 9p.
There will be family picnic on Saturday followed by gala night on Saturday August 10, 2019, and a family meeting on Sunday morning, where the curtain would be drawn on the event.
Houston-based host family member, and Vice President of Oloke Family Organization, USA, Mr. Edison Oyiboke-Osifo said Houston was well prepared for the event and that it would be a very successful and memorable one.
According to Oyiboke-Osifo who is also the President of Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW), the turnout would be very impressive, with the number of family members who have arrived so far from Thursday. He said activities have been lined up to make the reunion more exciting for everyone.
