Jalingo – Taraba state government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew of 6pm to 6am on Jalingo, Taraba state capital from Monday 11, March 2019 till further notice.
This was contained in a press release made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Darius Ishaku, Hassan Mijinyawa.
The statement in part reads “The Taraba state Government has imposed dusk to dawn curfew on Jalingo, the state Capital from today, monday 11th of March 2019 until further notice
“The Curfew will run from 6pm to 6am daily. How ever some INEC Officials, Key Agents of political parties and observers involved in collation of elections results are exempted.
“Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku enjoined the people of the state to continue to be law abiding and urge security agencies to ensure strict compliance.”
Meanwhile, the governor Darius Ishaku has won in eight of the eleven local government areas declared in the state.
His closest rival, Sani Danladi of the All Progressive Congress, APC won in three local government areas.
Aisha Alhasan of the United Democratic Party, UDP, is trailing behind governorship candidate of the APC with no local government won.
At the time of filing this report, collation is ongoing at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters in Jalingo.
