Concerned Nigerian Citizens have Called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) to without any further delay release the results of the National Assembly Elections held on February 23, 2019 across the Country, Particularly in Plateau North and Jos Bassa federal Constituency where the elections were delayed owning to uncertainties.

National Chairman of Concern Nigerian Citizens, Engr. Ahmed Hassan recently said they will not accept any result that does not favor Hon. Rufus Bature, APC Senatorial candidate, Plateau North and Alh. Haruna Maitala, APC candidate for House of Representatives.

He said they will not accept a doctored result from INEC and called on the INEC National Chairman, Prof. Yakubu Mahmoud to order Plateau INEC to release the result.

“The delay in the announcement of the result gives room for suspicion, we believe that something is going on and anyone who tamper with the election result for Plateau North will not be accepted, we already have the result.

“The election was very peaceful and results of the Presidential election and National Assembly election have been announced except that of the Plateau North and we don’t know why the result is being delay,” Engr. Hassan said.

Chairman, Concern Nigerian Citizens, Plateau North, Comrade Mohammed Bashir Mohammed alleged that INEC has doctored the result and they will not accept any form of injustice.

He urged INEC to announce the result as it is and that whoever is aggrieved should contest the result in court.

“We don’t know what is delaying the result, we are disturbed over the action of INEC, we will not accept the manipulation of this result. We need the results out today, we are seriously concern over the delay its announcement,” Comrade Bashir said.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to release the results as they have been calming their youths and also urged their Supporters to remain calm as steps are being taken to get to the bottom of the issue.
