Few weeks before the 2019 general elections, the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Michael Ohio-Ezomon was on Thursday morning kidnapped by gunmen in his house at Eme-Ora in Owan West Local Government Area of the state.
During the kidnap incident, Mr. Ohio- Ezomon’s orderly was said to have been killed by the gunmen
Speaking on the incident, the Chairman of the local government, Mr Frank Illaboya confirmed the incident. He also confirmed that Mr.
Ohio- Ezomon’s orderly was killed in process.
The chairman said that the case had been reported to the police, adding that the Edo commissioner of police was on his way to the local government at the time speaking on the incident.
“Our candidate in the forth coming election have been abducted by three gunmen at his house at about 1: am early this morning.
“The orderly attached to him was killed and our candidate was taken away by gunmen through the window. As I speak to you now, no contact from the abductors, he said.”
The House of Assembly APC candidate was a former member in house representing Owan West Constituency between 2011 and 2015 and now seeking re-election in the 2019 election.
As at the time of this report the Edo State Police Commissioner and his men were on ground to fish out the culprits.
