…Late Chief Anenih’s family seeks royal blessings
[dropcap]G[/dropcap]reat Benin Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II has charged the Chairman and members of the newly inaugurated Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma to correct the wrongs in the University with regard to teaching and learning.
Oba Ewuare II gave the charge when he received the Chairman and members of the council in his Palace last week.
The Benin Monarch harped on the need for the Governing Council to direct both students and staff for better performance, so that they can leave the school better than they met it.
He expressed concern over the increasing cases of cultism and examination malpractices in the institution and advised the chairman and members of the Governing Council to also tackle the problems of sexual harassment of female students by lecturers as well as misconducts by students.
The Oba commended Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki for reconstituting the Governing Council of Ambrose of the university, which he said was made up of men and women of proven integrity and capabilities. He assured the council of the Palace support at all times.
Earlier, the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of the Governing Council of the university, Chief Lawson Omokhodion said they were in the Palace to receive royal blessings to enable them succeed in the task before them.
Chief Omokhodion said the governing council would do everything possible to direct the school to achieve effective teaching and learning.
He expressed confidence that after their tenure, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma would be better than they met it.
In another development, the Oba of Benin also received the children of late elder statesman and Iyasele of Esanland, Chief Tony Anenih.
Oba Ewuare II condoled with the family, saying that Chief Anenih was a great personality who contributed to the development of the state and country.
Late Anenih’s Oldest son, Mr. Tony Anenih Jnr said they were in the Palace to inform His Royal Majesty of the passing of their father and solicit royal blessings for a successful burial.
