[dropcap]M[/dropcap]embers of the Obazagbon community in Edo State rolled out the drums in wild celebration recently to thank the revered Benin monarch, Omo N’oba N’edo Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare ll, for graciously ordering Chief Vincent Edo to step in as their would-be-Odionwere.
Leading his people joyously, singing and dancing with a group of band playing men that added colour and glamour to the special event, Chief Vincent Edo told alltimepost that they came to the Palace of the Oba to specifically appreciate His Imperial Majesty for the timely intervention in solving the leadership problem of the Obazagbon community.
“We came to the Palace to thank Oba Ewuare ll for declaring me the would-be Odionwere that will be taking care of the community. With this development our Oba has demonstrated that he is the undisputed custodian of wisdom,fairness and equity all over the Benin Kingdom.We are really grateful and happy,” the Odionwere remarked.
In demonstrating their absolute gratitude, the Obazagbon people brought several gift items to Oba Ewuare ll which included a giant size carved bronze image of the Oba.
During the occasion the celebrants danced and sang several melodious songs for hours to the delight of the Oba, Palace functionaries/Chiefs and other onlookers who had come to present their cases to the Oba for judgement.
