Oba Ewuare II Foundation Begins Skills Acquisition Program … Initiative will train 50 youths

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ba Ewuare II Foundation in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment has put together a skill acquisition program at the Oba Ewuare II Foundation Complex in Benin City.

The empowerment program is aimed at training 50 youths in the state including the Libya returnees. The training will be on entrepreneurship skills like liquid soap making, baby powder, hair cream, baby oil, weavon oil among others.

Speaking at the beginning of the program, the Face of Oba Ewuare II Foundation, Miss Ifueko Aideyan expressed the readiness of the foundation to engage youths on training in order for them to be self-reliant, and advised youths to key into the program.

Aideyan said the Oba Ewuare II Foundation was determined to eradicate poverty amongst youth through skill acquisition and financial empowerment.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of National Directorate of Employment, Mrs. Ayo Edegbai thanked His Royal Majesty for taking a bold step at stamping out human trafficking, illegal migration and other social vices in the state.

Edegbai said she was honored to work with Oba Ewuare II Foundation in impacting on the youth and giving them a sense of belonging in the society. She added the skills acquisition program was in line with Federal Government approval to train and retrain 76,400 youths in the country and that NDE has been given the approval as well to specifically engage 50 youths in the state. She wished Oba Ewuare II more long life to do more.

Meanwhile, the Oba Ewuare II Foundation has disbursed the second batch of stipend of Twenty Thousand Naira to the Libya returnees some of whom are also part of the training program.

The disbursement was done at the Oba Ewuare II Foundation Complex, Benin City by the Private Secretary to the Oba of Benin, Barr. Eseosa Erevbanarhue, who is also Secretary to the Foundation.

Some of the Libya returnees expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty for his magnanimity and fatherly love and care. They promised to use the money judiciously to better their lives.
