This was made known by the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, after the aspirant and his campaign team met the lawmakers at the National Assembly complex Tuesday evening.
The meeting was attended by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara; Deputy Speaker, Yusuf Lasun; Mr Gbajabiamila and a host of other APC lawmakers.
Mr. Oshiomole had recently declared his intention to contest for the chairmanship position of the APC.
He is expected to be the main challenger to the incumbent chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, if the latter decides to seek re-election.
Both men are from Edo State and are former governors of the state.
Mr Oshiomhole enjoys the support of President Muhammadu Buhari. He is also believed to enjoy the support of a leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu; thus putting him in good stead to emerge chairman.
A former governor of Cross River State, Clement Ebri, had also declared interest to seek the chairmanship of the party.
