Oba Ewuare Has Made Our Work Easier, Says NAPTIP Boss

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]enin Zonal Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Mr. Nduka Nwawwenne, has described the Benin Monarch as an extraordinarily effective and result- oriented Royal Father, whose concerted effort has made NAPTIP job easier in Edo State.

Nwawwnne spoke to Alltimepost .com last Friday at the Palace of the Oba of Benin during the special traditional ceremony initiated and presided over by Oba Ewuare, where sacrifices were made and curses pronounced upon those involved in the business of trafficking human beings outside the country.

He said Oba Ewuare ll has added another milestone in his avowed dedicated and passionate disposition to the peaceful, civilized, orderly and progressive existence of all his subjects throughout the Benin Kingdom and beyond.

His words: “Oba Ewuare ll has done something very significant and historic in the sense that by this special ceremony supervised by him he has simply made NAPTIL job a lot easier, because victims of human trafficking have not been cooperating with us during investigation and interrogation as a result of secret oaths they were forced to make by the dreadful and desperate human traffickers prior to their being taken outside the shores of Nigeria.

“Now we expect the victims to speak out without fear as the Oba has waded into their plight as a result of the rain of curses that descended from the palace.”

The ceremony was well attended by all traditional and cultural stakeholders, including renowned dreaded native doctors invited from the length and breadth of the Benin kingdom.

The terrible rain of curses at the event did not spare those still operating illegal Community Development Associations under a new guise in Edo State.

It would be recalled that Oba Ewuare ll vehemently moved against the operators of Community Development Associations as soon as he was crowned the new Great Benin King in 2017, a development that was complimented by Edo State House of Assembly via a promulgated bill that was immediately signed into law by the state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Analysts believe that this interesting development will go a long way in drastically reducing the nefarious activities of those notorious ‘madams’ and their agents that have seemingly dragged the Benin image into the mud in the name of human trafficking over the years.
