The event which is part of the 2018 Press Week of the chapel will have as guest speakers, Professor Eddy Erhagbe, Dean of the University of Benin Faculty of Arts and Mr Austin Osakue who coordinates the Foundation for Good Governance and Social Change.
Mr Thomas Sadoh, and Mr. Hillary Odia-Nosa, chairman and secretary of the chapel in a statement said the choice of the topic was informed by growing public outcry against the modus operandi of the Federal Government’s anti-corruption war.
He said, “When the President took office he said that Nigeria must kill corruption so it does not kill Nigeria. But we all know that the government has not been doing enough; like its been paying lip service to corruption.”
” The fight has been two-faced; when it affects the Executive, the government turns a blind eye, but when it affects the National Assembly, the Executive beams its search light. In essence the fight is lopsided “.
Sadoh added that the lecturers would do justice to the topic in a manner that the government even at state levels would be better informed on how best to prosecute the war in the public interest.
