Edo EXCO Holds Retreat, Fine-tunes Strategies For 2018

…reforms in education sector, civil service top agenda

To review and inject fresh ideas into the running of the apparatus of government in the state, the Executive Council of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration in Edo State is on a retreat in the heart of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Those on the retreat include top government functionaries in the state, comprising commissioners, Special Advisers and other top-ranking government appointees. The retreat will stretch from January 26 to 28.

Top on the agenda are reforms of the education sector – Basic, Secondary, Technical and Tertiary -; Civil Service and other sectors of the state.

The retreat is assessing the progress made since the administration came on board, reviewing work plans of the different ministries and set agenda for the months ahead.

Present at the retreat are the Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, his deputy, Rt. Hon. Phillip Shaibu; Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., Head of Service, Edo State, Mrs. Gladys Idahor, among many others.

Recall that a similar retreat was held shortly after the governor constituted his cabinet, where members of the EXCO presented their work plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were agreed upon.
