Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Godwin Obaseki yesterday said he decided to congratulate the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu because “I don’t play politics of bitterness”.
The Director General of the Obaseki Campaign Organization, Osarodion Ogie, had in a statement congratulated Ize-Iyamu for his emergence as the PDP governorship candidate and admonished him to base his campaigns on issues and solutions that will better the lives of the people of Edo state.
However, Obaseki in an interview with journalists explained that “If you look at my politics, it is quite different from the way people play it here. I prefer to talk about issues that will better the lives of our people and not on individuals.
“I expect that the governorship contest will be a fair and civilised one where the interest of Edo State and her people are the primary goals. Our politics should be based on issues and solutions for the benefit and progress of our people” he stated.
